Fiji's Yasawa Islands

Fiji's Yasawa Islands are a group of around  20 volcanic islands just north-west of Fiji's main island, Viti Levu.

Known for its high grassy peaks, stunning beaches, and clear blue waters, this region is the ultimate tropical paradise.

Mai Sunset Beach Resort is located on the western side of Naviti Island, the largest of the Yasawa Islands. The island is also home to a number of villages and a few small resorts. 

The resort location is known for hiking, snorkelling, close proximity to Manta channel (where manta ray are often spotted between May and October each year), and access to local villages where visitors are welcomed with warm Fijian hospitality.

The resort is best accessed by ferry transfer (daily from Port Denarau on Viti Levu). The great thing about the ferry is that it runs north each morning to the upper Yasawa Islands, stopping at resorts on the way, and south back to Port Denarau each afternoon, which allows travellers to island hop the region, visiting a range of locations and resorts.  More information on this can be found below:

Ferry Transfer

South Seas Cruise’s high-speed catamaran, the Yasawsa Flyer III,  will transport you to Mai Sunset Beach Resort in around 3 hours and 15 minutes. The 'Flyer'departs daily from Port Denarau (25 minutes from Nadi Airport) at 8.45 am.

Enjoy air-conditioned lounges, a licensed bar and snack kiosk, satellite WiFi, and outdoor viewing decks as you journey through Fiji’s beautiful islands. For travel until 31 March 2027, the one-way cost for this transfer is FJ$210 per adult and FJ$137 per child.

Air-conditioned coach transfers are also available to/from Port Denarau and Nadi International Airport and most Nadi, Wailoaloa, Vuda, and Denarau hotels/resorts with a cost of FJ$10 one way per adult and FJ$7 one way per child. Bookings are mandatory.

Yasawa Flyer Captains Lounge

Captains Lounge

For a small additional cost, gain access to the  Captains' Lounge. This private space has a designated onboard host, plus you will also receive complimentary snacks, bottled water, coffee, soft drinks, house wine, and local beer to enjoy during your journey. Available on Yasawa Island Routes. Ask at the check-in counter for availability or check online when booking.

One-way cost, valid for travel until 31 March 2027, is FJ$265 per adult and FJ$172 per child.
