ABOUT US
.jpeg)
Mai Sunset Beach Resort, located in Fiji's picturesque Yasawa Islands, was originally built by a master builder from New Zealand and, in 2026, was sold to Fiji's premier maritime operator, South Sea Cruises Group.

It holds a unique position on Naviti Island's western side that puts it in an absolute prime position to see the colourful sunsets that Fiji is well known for.

At the end of each day, guests are invited to gather togeather to share a drink and toast another day in paradise with several optional activities revolving around the sun setting such as 'Sunset Drift', a fun floating island that guests can sit on in the water and watch the sun set, 'Sunset Hike' up to the ridge line to see the sun set over the island and its surrounds from its peak and cocktail making lessons for those wanting to stick close to the resort.

What we are known for:
-
Sustainable living is a way of life in the islands, with sustainability born out of necessity rather than following a trend. The resort is mostly solar-powered, and our water comes from a bore on site.
-
Our staff mostly come from the local village (Gunu), which is just over the hill from the resort.
-
Nama (sea grapes) is growing in the shallows right off the front of the resort, which is a local delicacy and is a well-known skin care ingredient
-
Mai Sunset Beach resort is one of the few resorts close enough for guests to visit 'Manta Channel', where manta rays are frequently spotted at certain tides from May to October each year. Just a short boat ride to be able to do the snorkelling with Fiji's manta rays experience.
-
Our local village warmly invites our guests to experience their way of life in Fiji, and even welcomes our guests for morning or afternoon tea on our village visit activity
-
Our resort has a funky, quirky style with locally crafted murals and signage throughout. 'Sunset orange' is also a colour that is found throughout the resort, leaving a lasting impression.
-
In early 2027, the resort will transform with new beach tents being built. Have a look at our resort map here to see where they will be located.
