Mai Sunset Island Resort is on a small remote island tucked away in the Yasawa Group of Island of Fiji. This charming resort is a haven of natural beauty and warm hospitality where you can experience traditional Fijian culture. We are fortunate to be one of the few locations in the Pacific where the Fijian women casually stroll from the village to collect Sea Grapes, commonly known as ‘Nama’ to the locals, which is then transported and sold to the local markets.
When you arrive at Mai Sunset Island Resort, you will be greeted by a true sense of tranquility, from the palm tree lined beach to the lush tropical gardens that lead to your Bure, that have been designed to blend harmoniously into the surrounding landscape, providing a peaceful and intimate stay for our guests.

See Allsawa-I-Lau Caves What are the Sawa-i-Lau Caves? Set in the remote Yasawa group of islands, the Sawa-i-Lau caves are a series of limestone caverns hollowed out by waves over time. They were originally formed underwater and then by tectonic movement were pushed to something around sea level a few hundred years ago.Swimming with the Manta's Swimming with huge yet elegant manta rays in their natural environment is an enchanting experience. Each year, reef manta rays are seen in abundance gliding through the nutrient-rich waters of Fiji. But you can’t swim with manta rays on your own, as they are a safeguarded species in Fiji, and you can’t swim with manta rays just anywhere. We’ll guide you on how to swim with the rays, what the experience is like, as well as other things you’ll need to know for the experience with this guide to swimming with manta rays in Fiji.Although there are rare sightings of manta rays in Fiji all year round, the best time to see manta rays is between May and October. Each walk has some steep sections that your guide will help you navigate if required.You will be ready for a refreshing dip in the sea when you reach your destination.
