Sustainabilty
Mai Sunset Beach Resort is mostly solar powered. With solar panels on the roofs of bures and a large bank of panels at the back of the resort, this means we can generate most of our own power by harnessing the warm Fijian sun. Alongside this, we have a range of crops growing on the property that we use in the kitchen to make tasty, fresh food, and work with local villagers to source other food staples. We also source our own water from a natural spring on site, which is then UV-filtered for safe use throughout the resort.
Our People
Most of our staff come from Gunu Village, which is just over the hill on the eastern side of Naviti Island. Fiji is well known for its friendly people, and Mai Sunset is no exception. Our wonderful staff love to show visitors to the area the slice of paradise they live in, and especially love to take visitors on tours of their village and the local school and church on our village tours.
